 | Kerr's Negro Jig - 4 Ukuleles, Tenor, Baritone, Bass, Banjo - Kevin on all parts. Prior to the Civil War "Negro" Jigs were typically Banjo Tunes - played (and danced) by African Americans. This is an interesting jig in D minor. The minstrel banjo was strung with gut strings - so the sound is similar to the ukulele. This version is from the Oxford Slow Sessions. |
