Tuesday Ukes Senior Sing

Senior Sing describes who (mostly) we are, and what (mostly) we do. We get asked fairly often if we could perform for various groups and events. Our answer is no – but we’ll come and host a singalong – that’s Senior Sing. Our emphasis is on participation over performance.

We have a standard song book – with 16 songs – and we’ll add additional books as we go. We’ll have printed song books for the audience to sing along. A singalong will be a dozen or so songs – and while many of us will be playing ukes – we’d like to see folks playing kazoos, harmonicas, percussion – almost anything!

There will be one rehearsal each month – we’ll play through the songs and maybe mess with some arrangements if we’re so inclined. This is a singalong so the main goal is to get the folks where we’re playing involved.

We’ll have a mailing list you can sign up for, and as events get scheduled the mailing list will alert you to what’s coming up. All the events will also be listed on the TUG events calendar – just enter “Senior Sing” in the search bar.

You can come to one event, or all the events. One rehearsal, or no rehearsals – the only requirement is to be ready to sing with the folks at an event.

We will have some regular scheduled events. For example, we will be playing at Westminster Manor on the first, second and fourth Mondays of each month. We will also have occasional events as we get invited to play with different groups. As the year goes by we should have at least one singalong every week – so hopefully there will be plenty of opportunities for folks who are interested.

We’ll have sign up sheets for the mailing list at our meetings – and if you have any questions just email t[email protected].
